The Foundation BLANCEFLOR Boncompagni-Ludovisi, née Bildt has as its object to promote scientific research and education for persons under age 35, preferably studying for or holding doctorates and of Swedish or Italian nationality. The subject fields of the Foundation are physics including geophysics and astrophysics, chemistry including geochemistry, dentistry, medicine, engineering, data technology and closely related fields.

The Foundation primarily awards grants for lengthy periods of study away from the student´s own country, in the USA, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, England, Germany, Japan or Canada. Grants are not awarded for first degree studies. Grants are individual; they are not awarded to groups or associations. Applications shall be filed by March 1st, every year.

Each year, the Foundation awards scholarships for a total of 3-4 mill. SEK, distributed on individual scholarships each in the range of 50 000-170 000 SEK.
